Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6 & Class 9 Admission Test 2018: In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986), Government of India started Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) all over the country except the state of Tamil Nadu. These are co-educational, residential schools, fully financed by Government of India and run by an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, under the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Though admission to Navodaya Vidyalayas is at Class VI level, in order to optimally utilize infrastructure facilities available, vacant seats at Class IX level are filled through an All India level Admission Test. While education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniforms and textbooks, a nominal fee of Rs. 600/- per month is collected from the students of Classes IX to XII only. In respect of ward of Govt. employees, fee @ Rs.1500/- per month has to be paid. However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, Girls & Boys from families whose income is below poverty line (BPL) are exempted from payment of fee. The NVS Last date to apply for the admission test is 05th April 2018.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test-2018 for class VI (Phase-2) in respect of the following Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas will be conducted on 15th July 2018 :
1. District Tarn Taran (Punjab)
2. District Chamba (Himachal Pradesh) – for Pangi Block
3. District Jaunpur (Uttar Pradesh)
4. District Dhanbad (Jharkhand)
5. District Katihar (Bihar)
6. District South Dinajpur (West Bengal)
Arrangement will be made to download the admit cards by the candidates from the website of NVS – www.nvshq.org. Candidates may contact Principal of JNV concerned and collect Admit Cards, in case of difficulty.

JNVS Class 6 Admission Test 2018: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti Class 6 Selection Test in JNVs for the academic session 2018-19 will be according to the JNVS Schedule 2018. Eligible candidates can apply online through www.nvsadmissionclassnine.in from 01st March 2018 to 05th April 2018.

JNVST 9th Class Admission Test 2018: Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (An Autonomous Organization Under Ministry of Human Resource Development Dept. of School Education & Literacy, Govt. of India) issued Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya 9th Class Admission Test for 2018-19 (Class-IX Lateral Entry) Notification to fill the vacant seats in 626 functional Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas spread over 28 States and 07 UTs through an All India level Admission Test.

At present, there are 626 functional Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas spread over 28 States and 07 UTs. Navodaya Vidyalayas Entrance Examinations dates will be different. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test is conducted in 21 languages. A Candidate who has studied in a school located in an urban area even for a single day of session in Class-III, IV and V will be considered as an urban candidate. Urban areas are those which are so defined in 2011 census or through a subsequent Government Notification. All other areas will be considered as rural.

NVS Exam Centres:

Each candidate shall appear for the selection test at the examination centre allotted to him/her as indicated on the Admit Card. No candidate is permitted to appear from any other centre. No request for change of centre will be entertained. No candidate can appear in the selection test without the proper Admit Card. Admit card may be downloaded through the office of Common Service Centre.

JNVST Exam Pattern 2018:

The selection test will be of two-hour duration and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are co-educational residential schools providing quality modern education to the talented students predominantly from rural are as from class VI to class XII. Applications are being collected for admission to class VI during 2018-19. Candidates fulfilling the following criteria are eligible to apply for admission.

  • Studying in Class V in academic Session 2017-18 in a Govt./ Govt. recognized school in the same district, where JNV is functioning and to which they are seeking admission.
  • Studied and passed classes III & IV from Govt./Govt. recognized school.
  • Studied full academic session in each class. Should study for full academic session in Class- V from the same district from where admission is sought
  • Born between 01-05-2005 and 30-04-2009 (both the days inclusive)

In addition to the provision of online application for admission through Common Service Centres, the parents/ candidates can also submit their applications duly verified by the Head master of the school where the candidate is studying in class V during 2017 – 18 to the Principal, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of the district concerned and obtain acknowledgement. The candidates who have already registered successfully through CSC need not submit another application through offline mode.The application form may be downloaded from the website www.nvshq.org.

NVS Notice 2018: Notification was issued by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti regarding postponement of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test for admission of students to Class VI for the session 2018-19 due to administrative reasons vide notification dated 23rd January 2018. It is now notified that Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test 2018 for Class VI will be conducted on 21st April 2018 (Saturday) for all (Summer, Winter and Extreme Winter bound) Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in one go . All the candidates are advised to note the same and refer to NVS website www.nvshq.org for further details including collection of admit card.
